Bucaramanga #2

Bucaramanga | Santander | Colombia |

This was the second project of its kind implemented in the surrounding area of Bucaramanga, Santander. About 165 children received school supplies as one of the deliverables of this program. The program’s main goal was to impact the lives of orphaned and abandoned children, affected by domestic violence and mental deficiencies. Three groups of children were part of this program. 35 orphan/abandoned children, 115 children from an elementary school and 15 mentally challenged teenagers. Additionally, a computer lab with 4 computers and committed college tutors was allocated to the orphan school. The student-tutors would have the opportunity to teach the kids how to use the computers to aid their education. We had volunteers from Europe and the US that helped with the educational seminars and offered a day of companionship with the 150 children and some family members. Additionally, this second project continued to provide four one-year English scholarships to the top students from the previous SEF program in Bucaramanga.
