Mosaicos #2

Norman | Clevaland | United States |

MOSAICOS is an after school program designed to improve the academic and social-emotional development of children from Hispanic/Latino families.  The program is a partnership between SEF, LatinasWIN, the University of Oklahoma and the Center for Children and Families located in Norman, Oklahoma.  MOSAICOS engages students in variety of enrichment activities that include visual and performing arts, reading, writing, crafts, recreation and STEM (science, technology and math).  Students also receive academic tutoring and skill-building in areas that focus on attention, stress management, self-confidence and overall emotional health.

SEF’s goals in Norman were to continue our 2015 MOSAICOS project with LatinasWIN, the University of Oklahoma, and Norman Center for Children and Families. In 2016, we supported 38 children with English-language classes and OU volunteers led by Charlotte Jones.
