Smile Education delivered groceries to families in the Tello community, a community with a largely forgotten elderly population and influential, violent groups. These nutritional care packages (oil rice, sugar, etc) were distributed to the 100 poorest families in the area in hopes of equipping them with the basic food essentials that they lacked. In providing healthier environment for kids and their families, Smile Education Foundation was able to succeed in our goals of improving the educational environment for children.

Community Overview

The Tello community is marred by violent subversive groups, unpaved roads, no drainage, and a forgotten elderly population. Quality and quantity of food is so central to any individual’s well being, and by providing the necessities, children and families can focus on education without the worries of procuring food.
