Edwin Amaya

Edwin Amaya is an international award winning architect, president and founder of Tebrux, a successful construction management and architecture company based in Bogotá, Colombia that specializes in commercial and residential developments.

Before moving back to his native Bogotá in 2014, he lived in the United States for 17 years where he worked for Leidos, where he developed multi-million dollar projects for American agencies and private clients. His work received two of the biggest design awards from US government agencies: the US Army Corps of Engineers Design and Environmental Award of Excellence and the United States Air Force Awards Honor Award for Facility Design.

Mr. Amaya has also been awarded the two highest professional-community awards in the state of Oklahoma for business leaders under age of 40; Achievers Under 40 from the Journal Record, and 40 Under Forty Business Leaders from OKCBiz.
Mr. Amaya is the founder of Smile Education Foundation (www.smilef.org), a non profit organization that enhances underprivileged children’s academic and human development by promoting and supporting leadership opportunities. Under his leadership the foundation has helped thousands of children and families in different communities (mostly in Colombia, South America) through improved access to education.

He graduated with honors with a B.A. in Architecture and a Master of Science in Construction Administration from the University of Oklahoma (OU). He received the Outstanding Senior awardfrom his collegeand the Big Man on Campus award; the highest academic and community award given to students at OU.
He is married to Erika Perdomo, who serves as president of the foundation and they have a wonderful little girl, Sara. They enjoy traveling the world and in 2014 they took a 7 month sabbatical to travel through South America and Asia. They are already planning a similar adventure, now family, for 2030.
